Laser training faqs

Most commonly asked questions of 2020!

Here are the top 4 answered….

1. I have no experience, can I do your courses?

YES you can. Whether you have worked in a supermarket for the last three years, or are coming over from selling houses for 23 years you are able to study with us and move into a new career with laser/IPL. The most common pathway is:

The beginner course which will help you understand the science of light, laser and IPL systems, national and state standards and regulation, how light interacts with the skin and hair and the key safety issues you need to be across before you do treatments. This one covers the minimum certification required by the Australian Standards and to help get insurance coverage, as it covers laser safety standards Australia. This course is then followed by the advanced course which is specific to the common types of things you would be treating including what wavelengths/laser or IPL to use, how to prepare the client, what to look out for, how to determine what and how you'll treat and post care arrangements. It covers hair reduction, vascular conditions, pigmentation disorders, resurfacing and rejuvenation, tattoo removal and PDT. It has information on preventing and managing adverse events.

We also provide education in skin anatomy and physiology, medical grade chemical skin care peels and fat reduction, just to name a few.

2. Is practical included?

Practical education is available through Bravura Education and is held in Lismore NSW. Quotes are based on individual student needs. Not all states require practical hours to be logged so it is not essential to do as part of your online courses. Some students opt to do practical hours through their employer or supplier.  Every student is different, and we can provide as little or as much as you need in terms of education. *Please note, our trainer conducts 1 on 1 training only when online exams have been completed* This ensures you understand the laser safety protocols required in Australia

3. Can I open my own business with a certificate?

Yes you can; in most states! If you are in QLD, TAS or WA, there is a little more to the process as in a license application and logbook. Please read more about your state below. We provide the certificate that forms part of your application NOT the license for the states below.

4. How long do the courses take?

Our courses are all self-paced and can take from 2 to 14 hours, depending on the course. If you would like to get into it and get it done over the weekend, go for gold, if you would like to dedicate an hour a week, that is fine with us. You have your own unique password to login and the course will pick up right where you left off, so its up to you how much time you spend working through the modules.

As always, I am here to answer any questions at all, so please reach out to
