When you’re selecting a laser safety course provider, you may feel bombarded by choice. Here are some of the key reasons our students choose Bravura courses:
Our high standards are your peace of mind
We are an award winning company and the only laser/IPL safety training provider in Australia with laser course recognition at this standard. Your time and resources are spent on the highest quality education possible. Our theoretical training is accepted for licensing purposes by Queensland Government Radiation Health, Government of Western Australia Radiological Council; Health Protection, and the Tasmanian Government Radiation Protection Unit. Our laser/IPL safety courses are accredited by the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and the Australian College of Nursing.
We help you meet your Work Health and Safety obligations. Your team should be trained in proper operating procedures, including handling and care of equipment, set-up, intra-procedural monitoring, use of the controls and delivery systems and proper use of all accessory equipment. We’ll train your laser safety personnel, laser users (doctors, nurses, podiatrists and other health professionals) and students Australian/New Zealand Standard Safe use of lasers and intense light sources in health care AS/NZS 4173: 2018).
NOTE: Qualifications are not mandated in all states/territories, only WA, Queensland and Tasmania (our laser safety courses are accepted in all three, see above). There are currently no regulatory requirements for the use of lasers and/or IPL in Victoria, NSW, ACT, SA or the NT.
An enriched, online, e-learning experience
Our lectures are voiced over by real Australian clinicians and our high-quality activities and resources support your learning and practice.
Unlike many of our overseas competitors, we understand the Australian clinical and regulatory context and can relate to your clinical practice. We give you more than physics and standards, and the quality of our training materials is superior. We present from an Australian perspective and include real clinical scenarios common to your practice. Our in-depth understanding of AHPRA, ARPANSA and other national organisations influencing clinical practice is unparalleled.
This is a rapidly evolving industry. Our laser courses are updated in real time, whenever something new and important arrives. This cannot be achieved by an RTO who are bound by red tape and high fees when it comes to updating their curricula.
Maintaining your CPD with the Board
Our programs are appropriate types of continuing professional development as outlined by the National Boards of AHPRA.
You’ll receive peer-reviewed course content approved by a carefully selected Program Advisory Committee who are health professionals with extensive, current clinical experience and understanding of the work that you do. They are seconded at the appropriate stages of content development to give advice on the curriculum in areas in which they have knowledge and expertise. Participating members of the committee have included a representative Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery, Ms Elissa O'Keefe RN NP FFACNP, MACN, Ms Connie McLachlan RN CNC, Ms Sophie Ashworth RN, Mr Josh Locker and Ms Justine Stewart-Crompton.
Best practice frameworks are benchmarked to ensure you’re presented with the best evidence. All laser safety courses are developed using the AS/NZS 4173:2004 Guide to the safe use of lasers in health care, the Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery Professional Practice Standards and Scope of Practice for Aesthetic Nursing Practice in Australia (2015) and the Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) Standards for Perioperative Nursing Standard: Laser Safety (2014).

Our certificates are highly respected by clinicians, employers and industry partners alike. We are totally independent of any laser or IPL equipment sales company and cover the applications and specifications of an array of devices. We will never try to sell you a device.
Real workplace confidence
Our online laser courses provide the convenience of equipping yourself with new skills and theoretical knowledge in the comfort of your own home or workplace. Many of our students take advantage of opportunities to practice their skills on technology that readily exists in their workplaces.
Some students, who don’t have access to technology for developing the practical application of their skills, like to spend time with us face-to-face. They can receive hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and close supervision from qualified and experienced staff, and make valuable connections in the industry. Take a look here at what we have for you on our Practical Experience Hub.
Laser and IPL equipment availability is diverse across Australia and there is no one place to be able to practice on all of the equipment available. Bravura Education recommends that, after you have completed your online theory laser courses, you work within your scope of practice, identify a more experienced clinical mentor to assist you to develop your practical skills (like us with our Practical Hub experience), ensure that you have standard operating policy and procedures in place, liaise with the manufacturer of the specific machinery that you will be using and begin to record practical experience in a log book.
If you are a beauty therapist our laser courses will benefit you if you haven't completed units specifically addressing 'Applying intense pulsed light' or 'Laser safety protocols' or ‘Investigate developments in cosmetic treatments using light or laser systems’ and are interested in using lasers and IPL for hair reduction, tattoo removal and skin rejuvenation.
We can accommodate enrolments for as many individuals in your organisation as you like in a single transaction.
