NEW: QUEENSLAND Cosmetic Laser Use Licence—Commercial Cosmetic Laser Practice Application Forms Now Released

In Queensland the use of radiation sources to carry out a radiation practice is regulated under the Radiation Safety Act 1999 to minimise the risks associated with radiation. This includes all Class 4 laser apparatus used in the provision of cosmetic services including:

  • hair reduction
  • skin rejuvenation
  • capillary reduction
  • tattoo removal
To perform these treatments in Queensland, you need to undergo a licensing process if you are a:
  • Laser technician (new/aspiring or current)
  • Dermal technician
  • Beauty therapist
  • Dermal therapist
  • Dermal clinician
  • Enrolled nurse, Registered nurse or Nurse practitioner
  • Medical practitioner
