What's the Difference Between a Laser User and a Laser Operator?

User:  Person who controls the application of the laser radiation at the working area. This is the person applying the radiation to the client/patient and is generally the surgeon or doctor in an operating theatre or in the cosmetic context the person performing the treatment regardless of title.

Operator:  Person who handles the laser equipment operates the console to control parameters under supervision of the user. This is a term generally used in the operating theatre where it is a nurse or assisting doctor that alters the parameters on the laser at the direction of the laser user.

Both of these roles are required to have laser safety education and workplace assessment for competence. Call us now if you need some help.
