Meet Our Founder: Elissa O’Keefe
Adjunct Associate Professor Elissa O'Keefe RN, NP is a trailblazer in the health and aesthetics industry, celebrated as the ACT's first Nurse Practitioner and a highly experienced clinician and educator. She holds an honorary role at the University of Canberra and is affiliated with the Synergy Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre.
Elissa has contributed significantly to the field of cosmetic nursing, authoring the first chapter on the subject in an undergraduate textbook, leading the Australian College of Nursing's Cosmetic Nursing Community of Interest, and is the lead author of the first Australian standards and scope of practice document for cosmetic nursing. She has also contributed to national regulatory reform through the AHPRA Review of cosmetic surgery and is the author of Breakout: Science, Acne, and the Keys to Freedom.
As the founder of Bravura Education, Elissa identified a gap in high-quality, evidence-based training for people working with lasers and light-based therapies, and built the courses she wished had existed when she started out.
