EElissa O'Keefe is one of Australia's leading authorities on laser and light-based therapy safety, and was the first nurse practitioner in the ACT. She holds an honorary appointment at the University of Canberra and is an Affiliate of the Synergy Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre.
Elissa has played a leading role in setting the national standards practitioners rely on today. She authored the first undergraduate textbook chapter on cosmetic nursing, was the inaugural Chair of the Australian College of Nursing's Cosmetic Nursing Community of Interest, is the lead author of the first Australian standards and scope of practice document for cosmetic nursing, and has contributed to national regulatory reform through the AHPRA Review of cosmetic surgery.
Elissa founded Bravura Education to make this same standard of evidence-based, regulation-aligned laser and light-based therapy education accessible across the health sector, not just within aesthetics, and her vision continues to guide everything we teach.
